For centuries, nature and art have evolved in tandem. They seem to consciously complement and influence one another; they exist alongside humanity, yet persevere despite it.

Inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson, I used medium and large format cameras to capture the visual lyricism of the natural spaces in which I have often found solace.

Nature and God — I neither knew

Yet Both so well knew me

They startled, like Executors

Of My identity

Yet Neither told — that I could learn —

My Secret as secure

As Herschel’s private interest

Or Mercury’s affair —
